Changes the quest chat color just for you.Quest Chat is a tool that is most often used with quests and plots. This takes your Party Chat and redirects it on the back end into a specific channel that only other people opted into that channel can see. By default:
Whisper chat
is to people around you in a 2.5 in-game meter radius. (See /listenrange command.)
Talk chat
is to people around you in a 20 in-game meter radius.
Party chat
is visible to everyone in your party as well as any online dungeon master. This is superceded by Quest Chat.
Shout
is disabled for players and server-wide.
Area
messages are to people in the area, usable by DMs only.
DM
chat is a message to the DMs. You will see your own messages up the DM channel but any replies will come in the form of Tells.
Tells
are direct messages between any logged in player or DM. These are not logged by the server rotator.
Some things to note:
While there are better places to put a note about player privacy, it is noted here that if players wish to keep their roleplay private, it is suggested to pick a quest chat channel that is likely not being used (You can use any number, but it is safe to say that 5-6 digits is plenty.) For example: Two players wish to speak privately. They extract themselves to a private area behind a locked door. They may, then, use '/questchat join 945671'. This will put them into a private channel and anything that is said through the Party channel will then only be sent to those two players.
Note that anyone joining or leaving a quest chat channel is announced in the combat log.
