Reaction Level (If not disguised):
Level 2 (Tolerated) to Level 3 (Discriminated) depending on skin/eye color combination. More humanoid-standard tones will be treated better.
Half-Giants are a rare breed of being. Aside from the logistics of such a creation, they often don't live long in either society they might grow up in. Among giants, they are small and weak things. Among humans or other races, they are huge, lumbering, and considered dull or slow-witted. Most half-giant adventurers show much greater strength and health than other races, at a cost of often being considered stupid and ugly by many others. (This is especially prevalent with stone, hill, and mountain half-giants, of whom their progenitors are often considered among the most ‘simple’ of giants.)
Most giants have some affinity for the elements based upon their type.
Half-Fire giants tended towards being more broad, with dark skin and bright hair and eyes. Their culture values bravery and showing off their strength, and often gravitate towards the use and crafting of metal. Fire giants lived often in small family units among volcanic areas and other incredibly hot places, where they would find it most comfortable. Many fire giants took humans and other weaker creatures as hostages or otherwise bullied them into submission. Rarely, however, they'd put up with or even invite followers of Kossuth to worship with them. Half-fire giant characters are likely to come out of the fire giant's monarchic society with deference to priests and a need to be productive whenever possible.
Half-Frost giants typically have pale skin and hair, through the spectrum of blue and white shades, though some may end up blonde. Their eyes usually range between blue, silver, and yellow. Frost giant culture typically embraces brute strength and battle prowess, not unlike their fire giant cousins. Frost giant individuals often proudly wear evidence of their victories in combat or over other physical challenges. They greatly value family ties and keep great lists and songs of their ancestors. Many frost giants value the creation of things out of wood and leather. Half-giants of frost lineage are likely to come from incredibly cold places, where they would have most likely been at the bottom of the hierarchy due to their smaller size and comparatively weak bodies, and thus, at a high disadvantage compared to other true giants in the common wrestling and feats of strength held among frost giant societies.
Half-Forest giants share coloring often with wood elves; having tanned or coppery skin, with green to brown eyes being common. Hair ranges from black to brown, though other natural hues were not unheard of. Wood giant, or voadkyn culture tends to be varied but more benevolent compared to the other broods of giant. Many can be broody and quiet stalkers of the forest, some are more flighty and jovial, and yet more are great connoisseurs of well-made crafts and art. A great number of forest giants consider themselves to be shepherds of the forests of the world, and often make and keep large gardens or labyrinths. Most forest giants eschew their giant cousins of other kinds, and don't often live with, near, or around any other races other than wood elves or (sometimes) treants.
Half-Storm giants usually have pale skin ranging from white to violet to light green skin, with dark green hair and eyes, or blue hair and silver eyes, not unlike the colors of a brewing storm about to break. Storm giant culture tends to be superstitious and well-attuned to magic, leading to many of them becoming casters, shamans, and druids that paid great attention to nature. They also greatly value being charitable to other creatures and races, despite being remote from many of them.
Half-Hill giants are usually considered the most brutish and simple of the giant mixes. Their progenitors tend to be large, obese, and unappealing to members of other races. Half-Hill giants tend towards earthy tones in skin and hair, when they do in fact have hair. Many tend to have crooked teeth, blemished skin, and a noticeably poor body odor. Hill-giant culture tends towards brutal force, raiding, and bullying each other and weaker races to do as they wanted. They have a high focus on food and the gathering/eating of it, whether fresh or not. Many speculators have assumed that Hill giants have a far dulled sense of taste, but stay hungry no matter what they might consume. Half-hill giants have not been numerous enough to confirm this, however.
Half-Mountain giants tend towards being a similar offshoot from hill giants. The most typical difference is that they tend towards lighter tan to reddish skin. Their culture is, however, typically a little more receptive to peace and good relations with others. Typically, full mountain giants live in small groups of families together across a mountain or mountain range, and consider humans, dwarves, and elves as oddities, sometimes keeping them around as playthings.
Half-Stone giants typically wind up having more of a stone tone to their skin and hair. Many have gray to brown skin, and hair anywhere from dark or blue-grey to black, and silver or steel colored eyes. Oddly, many stone giants have a much slower heartbeat than typical humans, and half-stone giants may sometimes also have this trait. Stone giant culture tends to value wisdom and careful thought more than their other brethren. Many gravitated towards creating careful works of art. They tend to greatly value interpersonal relationships, often between teacher and pupil.
